Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, and Matthew Rhys join Spielberg’s The Papers
According to Variety, an actor from a TV show you like has just joined the cast of Stephen Spielberg’s The Papers (formerly known as The Post), which will tell the story of the Washington Post’s fight to publish the Pentagon Papers—which basically revealed the extent to which the U.S. government had fucked up the Vietnam War—in 1971. As for which actor we’re referring to, take your pick: Sarah Paulson, Bob Odenkirk, Matthew Rhys, Bradley Whitford, Carrie Coon, Jesse Plemons, David Cross, Alison Brie, Tracy Letts, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bruce Greenwood, and Zach Woods have all joined the cast, and they’ve all appeared in at least one wildly popular or critically acclaimed show from the last few years. Who knows, maybe Spielberg’s been spending some time catching up on American Horror Story, Better Call Saul, The Americans, The West Wing, The Leftovers, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Community, Divorce, Boardwalk Empire, American Crime Story, and Silicon Valley.
All of those people from all of those shows will be joining previously cast stars Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, so if you somehow weren’t interested in this movie before, you probably are now.
