Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon is launching his own music festival

The Current reports that Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon has passed through the final round of permit approval to make his Eaux Claires Music And Arts Festival official. The new event will take place in Vernon’s hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at Foster Farm, where fans can camp in the remote, wooded area for three days of Vernon-curated music across three stages.

Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce President Bob McCoy estimates the event could ultimately bring “8 or 9 million dollars” of tourism money into the area, with an expected attendance of up to 25,000 people each day. Vernon is currently handpicking the lineup, presumably drawing on his long list of musician friends and high-profile collaborators, for what is expected to be an annual event.
