Bon Iver to re-create Wisconsin in Mexico on “all-inclusive concert vacation”

Bon Iver is no one’s—okay, maybe The A.V. Club’s—idea of a summer jam, but bandleader Justin Vernon is nevertheless going to bring his wintry mix of earnest indie songwriting to the sunny beaches of Mexico’s Riviera Maya when Bon Iver headlines the three-day “all-inclusive tropical concert vacation” known as Days Have No Numbers in January. The event will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, located midway between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, and includes all your standard all-inclusive amenities like piña coladas that, no matter how many you drink, will only get you mildly buzzed, along with the music.

The music will include three sets from Bon Iver, as well as a set for each of the four nights from Sylvan Esso, POLIÇA, Francis and the Lights, Hiss Golden Messenger, Melt-Banana, Spank Rock, Aero Flynn, Phil Cook, Dizzy Fae, Velvet Negroni, Amy Warehouse, and Hrrrbek. Tickets start at $1,549 per person for a no-frills “Deluxe Silver” room and go all the way up to $3,499 a person for stagefront accommodations. Those go on sale on August 10. And although the organizers insist that “Days Have No Numbers,” the numbers on this particular event are 01/21-01/25, 2018.
