Bonnaroo gets a lineup; Langerado gets the axe
Variety has the news that Bonnaroo, the annual Tennessee music festival has found a headliner: Bruce Springsteen And The E. Street Band, fresh off their great Super Bowl performance (and the good-but-not-great new album Working On A Dream.) But Bonnaroo hasn't lost touch with its getting-stoned-with-the-hill-folk roots: It will also play host to a reunited Phish. Wilco, Beastie Boys, Lucinda Williams, Snoop Dogg, and Elvis Costello are also all on board.
Elsewhere, in news sure to make the big music festival circuit a bit nervous, Miami's Langerado festival has been cancelled. Scheduled for March 6-8, the festival was to feature Modest Mouse, Death Cab For Cutie, Snoop Dogg and others. Promoters cite sluggish sales as their reason for pulling the plug. Tickets are refundable.
