Borat frat boys lose bid to remove footage that makes them look like racist jackasses
A Los Angeles superior court judge ruled against two college fraternity members seeking to cut a scene from Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan where they are drinking beer and making racist remarks, Reuters reports. The students sued the movie's distributor and producers last month, claiming they agreed to be in the movie after being tricked and drugged (with beer and shots). At the time the suit was filed, a judge denied the pair's request for a temporary restraining order that would have removed the offending footage, but the plaintiffs had another chance to seek an injunction at a hearing last week.
Even if they had won the injunction, the damage has already been done: Borat has grossed more than $120 million in six weeks. If you haven't seen the footage yet, here is a grainy but still funny clip.
