Borat: Human-rights icon?

Perhaps Borat will wish to make sanctuary-time explosion inside the U.S., if a new human-rights report by the State Department is any indication. According to Reuters, the report charts various human-rights abuses by Kazakhstan's government in recent years, noting (alongside more serious matters like police abuse and poor prison conditions) such infringements on free speech as the government's dismantling of an official Borat site registered at a ".kz" domain. This could be a blow to the image Kazakhstan tried to bolster in response to last year's Borat movie when it purchased expensive ads in an effort to prove to Americans how civilized the country is.
