Boy Meets World spin-off casts its star, confirming that girl will indeed meet world
As reported by Entertainment Weekly last night, the final piece of Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World puzzle is finally in place, with 11-year-old Rowan Blanchard joining a cast that includes Boy Meets World holdovers Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, and in the most anticipated reprise performance this side of William Daniels, World. Should the yet-to-be-made pilot persuade Disney Channel to order Girl Meets World to series, young Blanchard is set to meet the 4.54 billion-year-old terrestrial planet on a weekly basis, possibly filling its nitrogen- and oxygen-rich atmosphere with the occasional Adele cover. “As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” Michael Jacobs told EW, speaking on behalf of Blanchard and Savage’s 7 billion-plus human co-stars/potential viewers, a small percentage of whom may have seen the future Riley Matthews in The Back-Up Plan—and whose concept of the unending linear progression of existence and events collaborated with Blanchard on Spy Kids: All The Time In The World 4D. Though a handful of its inhabitants have expressed their opinions on the casting, the World itself has yet to register its thoughts on the matter, busy as it is with its annual multimillion-mile trip around the sun.
