Brace yourselves for A Series Of Unfortunate Events this weekend

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events (Netflix, Friday 3:01 a.m.): Season two of this popular Netflix adaptation finds the Baudelaire kids far from their horrid uncle’s (Neil Patrick Harris) clutches, as Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes), and Sunny (Presley Smith) set up residence in a boarding school, a freak show, and a penthouse. The new episodes are full of young love, witticisms, and intricate disguises. We’re having an old-fashioned binge watch this season, so look for all 10 reviews to post Friday. That’s a lot of Unfortunate Events to cover, we know, but if anyone can handle all the dastardly scheming, it’s Zack Handlen.

Regular coverage

Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, Friday, 9:01 p.m.)

Wild card

The Last O.G. (TBS, Saturday 11:30 p.m., special presentation): Get an early look at this new dramedy, which stars Tracy Morgan as the recently paroled Tray, who rejects the gentrified version of his native Brooklyn. Tiffany Haddish co-stars as his ex, Shay, who’s raising their twins with her new husband. Old school meets new money in this special presentation of the premiere, which is actually scheduled for Tuesday, April 3.
