Bradley Cooper and Todd Phillips bro down on Arms & The Dudes
In the biggest bro merger since the legendary Sigma Chi/Pi Kappa Phi 12-kegger of 2009, Bradley Cooper and Todd Phillips are joining forces to form an as-yet-unnamed production company. They don’t have a name yet, but they do have a three-year deal with Warner Bros.—which isn’t surprising, considering Cooper and Phillips already made Warner Bros. a ton of money with the Hangover trilogy.
Cooper and Phillips’ first project will be the long-percolating Arms & The Dudes, which has been in the works for several years now. The story is based on a Rolling Stone article about two Miami Beach potheads who stumble into an international conflict after agreeing to work as arms dealers for the U.S. government. Jonah Hill has reportedly attended table reads for the stoner action-dramedy, which is expected to begin shooting later this year; however, no official casting announcements have been made. But if James Franco’s phone doesn’t start ringing soon, he’s already got his statement on the artistic integrity of Pineapple Express 2 prepared.
