Bravo straps on a snowboard, grabs some scallops, and plummets headlong into Top Chef Extreme

In an ongoing effort to make everything on its channel about either rich women or eating, Bravo has announced a new Top Chef spin-off. Top Chef Extreme—which is a working title, thank God—will premiere this summer, with each episode pitting two winners from Top Chef or Top Chef Masters against each other in a three-round culinary battle. The winners of each battle will then go on to compete against each other in the season finale, then one person will presumably be named the most extreme Top Chef and awarded a bunch of skateboards and Razor scooters and back pats from extreme personalities like Tony Hawk and Shaun “The Flying Tomato” White. Or they’ll win money for charity. Same thing.

Top Chef fanatics are encouraged to submit their dream “chef’testant” battle pairings via the Top Chef Facebook page or using Twitter hashtag #TopChefExtreme. The network hasn’t said whether it’ll actually use any of those viewer suggested pairings, but anything’s possible when you go "extreme."
