Breitbart editor threatens right-wing fashion mag after being owned by Vogue

Breitbart economics and finance editor John Carney was upset and insulted when Vogue magazine, a New York-based publication, put New York’s most iconic symbol, the Statue Of Liberty, on the cover of its September issue, presumably because she’s a 151-foot copper woman who doesn’t smile on command:

We’re going to have to create a full #MAGA shadow cultural industry because the Opposition Media can’t even do fashion without attacking us pic.twitter.com/NRPf2JUfsy

The general fascism fetish of Carney’s “alt-right” peers aside, Carney is referring to a tense exchange between CNN’s Jim Acosta and White House senior adviser Stephen Miller last week over the Emma Lazarus poem that adorns the statue’s base. “What the president is proposing here does not sound like it’s in keeping with American tradition when it comes to immigration,” Acosta said. “The Statue of Liberty says, ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’” Miller responded that the poem was added later, leaving the “…and written by a Jewish socialist” dog-whistle part to anti-Semitic goons online.

So, yeah, American patriotic symbol the Statue of Liberty is politically divisive now, and therefore Carney jumped to the conclusion that Vogue had thrown together that cover in a week just to spite right-wingers. We’ll forgive Carney for never having seen The September Issue, the feature-length 2009 documentary currently streaming on Netflix based around the fact that Vogue magazine doesn’t blow its fucking nose in a week’s time. Netflix is a well-known propaganda arm of the liberal media, after all. And besides, Vogue communications director Zara Rahim has already set him straight, replying, “we shot this in June buddy.”

In the curious fashion of “alt-right” types to take their own assholes and make them into #MAGA hats, Carney responded to this correction not with a retraction, but by proudly owning his ignorance in the form of ironic hashtags and a Twitter bio that reads, “I get triggered by statues.” The whole thing also gave him a great idea, which we highly encourage him to pursue:

Seriously, I think we could do really well with @BreitbartNews Fashion. Lots of women who would like their fashion without leftism.

Sure, why not a Breitbart fashion section? Ivanka Trump—sorry, “Adrienne Vittadini”— could use the sales boost. And it’s not like the fashion industry has historically been a place of refuge for the LGBTQ people whose basic human rights your man Generalissimo Tweetdeck is so obsessed with taking away or anything. We’re sure plenty of designers would be willing to work with you. Here, we’ve got your Trumptember cover image right here:
