NME reports tonight that Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading, known in the music world as Liverpool-based dream pop duo Her’s, are dead, having both died in a car crash in California early Wednesday morning. The band’s tour manager, Trevor Engelbrektson, was also in the vehicle, and was also killed. The news was announced by the band’s label, Hit And Heist, via its Facebook page.
Her’s had recently released their first album, Invitation To Her’s, and were on their second North American tour in support of the album. Their music—sleepy, funny, and just a bit sleazy—was still in the up-and-coming stage of its development, but, per the label, had already begun to enjoy a degree of international success.
