Fostering the same spirit of togetherness that the film embodies, Britain has lifted its ban on The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence), allowing both American and UK audiences to digest its message and pass it along to their transatlantic neighbors. The reversal of the British Board of Film Classification’s original decision came after the film’s distributor agreed to “32 individual cuts” of various scenes of “sexual and sexualized violence, sadistic violence and humiliation, and a child presented in an abusive and violent context,” which must have been a really fun editing session. All in all, the edits amounted to an excised two minutes and 37 seconds of footage that stood in the way of the film being deemed acceptable for screening—and as in the board’s original decision, the details of what was cut constitute spoilers, so look away if you’re squeamish at the sight of plot revelations outside of their proper context: “A man masturbating with sandpaper around his penis; graphic sight of a man's teeth being removed with a hammer; graphic sight of lips being stapled to naked buttocks; graphic sight of forced defecation into and around other people's mouths; a man with barbed wire wrapped around his penis raping a woman; a newborn baby being killed; graphic sight of injury as staples are torn away from individuals' mouth and buttocks.” So all the pathos, in other words.
