Broad City scrubs former Louis CK manager from credits

In 2017, The New York Times published a story on accusations that Louis CK had a history of exposing himself to women and forcing them to watch him masturbate, with the exposé mentioning that CK’s manager Dave Becky had occasionally been tasked with pressuring or threatening accusers in hopes of keeping them quiet about CK’s behavior. Becky denied that he had ever threatened anyone and he dropped CK as a client after the story came out, but his denial suggested that he had no idea how severe the allegations against CK were or that the allegations had come from more than one woman. At the time, Becky was also the manager of Pamela Adlon, who worked with CK on Louie and her own FX show Better Things, but Adlon fired him after he released his response to the CK allegations.

Now, Becky has also been scrubbed from the credits of Comedy Central’s Broad City. Becky worked as an executive producer on the show since it began, and Vulture is reporting that his name will be removed from the show when its final season premieres this week. Apparently, the decision to do this has been in the making for a long time, with stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer mentioning back in 2017 that they were having conversations about Becky’s involvement in Broad City, and the decision to remove Becky’s credit reportedly came from Jacobson, Glazer, and Becky himself.
