Bryan Cranston avoids Better Call Saul spoilers just like you do

Although he recently portrayed an American president and is set to counsel Earth’s spangliest heroes, Bryan Cranston hasn’t forgotten about his most iconic role. The erstwhile Walter White is always game for talking about Breaking Bad even though, as he notes on The Rich Eisen Show, he believes the show wrapped up perfectly and doesn’t need any revisiting. But Cranston, who stars in The Infiltrator, is open to reprising the role in a previous incarnation, like on AMC’s Better Call Saul.

Series creator Vince Gilligan’s already alluded to a Walt appearance on his spin-off, which stars Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill in his own pre-Heisenberg days. No real plans were announced, but Cranston had reportedly been tapped to direct an episode. Now Cranston tells Eisen that while he might play Walt again, he’s unsure about the directing gig. See, Cranston loves Better Call Saul just as much as you do, and he doesn’t want to spoil any of it for himself, which he worries would happen if he helmed an episode. So for now, we’ll have to satisfy ourselves with the impending return of Walter White.
