Bryan Cranston’s fighting the war on drugs in The Infiltrator trailer
Bryan Cranston is The Infiltrator in this trailer for the film about Robert Mazur, the real-life DEA agent whose undercover work led him to the top of the Colombian cartels’ money-laundering organization. Cranston stars as Mazur, who assumes the alias Bob Musella (but gets to keep his sweet ’stache) to pose as a high-profile money launderer for drug lords. There’s a bit of cognitive dissonance in watching Heisenberg—we mean, Cranston—fight the good fight in the war on drugs, but he easily slips back into the role of family man, just in two separate families. His grueling undercover assignment requires a wife, so Mazur/Musella “marries” fellow agent Kathy (Diane Kruger), who also happens to be a proficient vamp. With some help from Emir Abreu (John Leguizamo), they’ll take on cartel “board member” Roberto Alcaino (Benjamin Bratt) before eventually stumbling upon Pablo Escobar’s own money-laundering operation.
Directed by Brad Furman, The Infiltrator will unobtrusively make its way into theaters on July 15.
