BTS and Halsey sing, dance, and save a struggling theater in the "Boy With Luv" music video
BTS and Halsey have released the official video to their collaboration called “Boy With Luv” and prepare yourselves for a shocker: It’s a color-infused slice of fun. Who could have guessed?! Halsey lends her energetic vocals to the chorus while the boys bring no shortage of whimsy to a song about finding love. Both come together to dance their collective asses off against a technicolor backdrop of neon piping and swirling art. They also manage to save a struggling theater, which is truly kind of them.
The catchy dance tune comes off of their highly anticipated album Map Of The Soul: Persona, a 7-track effort that also dropped today. The band teased the video ahead of its release with a couple of snippets, not their their fans needed any additional convincing to give the visual romp a chance: As of now, the video has accumulated over 38.2 million views less than ten hours after its release. It’s also the No. 1 trending video on YouTube. Oh my my my, indeed.
The international K-pop sensation have little time to celebrate, though. They have to prepare for Saturday night’s musical guest gig on SNL, which Emma Stone will host. If her reaction to BTS’s rehearsal is any indication, fans have a lot to look forward to.
Update: Per CNET, the video has already managed to break YouTube records. With 74.6 million views, “Boys With Luv” became the platform’s most streamed debut within a 24-hour period. It also reached 100 million views within a record-breaking two days, receiving a significant bump after their SNL appearance. Fellow K-pop artists Blackpink previously held both records with the debut of their music video “Kill This Love.”
