Buffy’s Charisma Carpenter now selling pot (on Chicago P.D.)
Chicago P.D., NBC’s latest effort to hold up its end of the agreement it made with the devil to always have multiple franchises created by Dick Wolf on the air in some form or another, is getting a new recurring character. This fresh blood, which is a phrase we are using because the actor used to be on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, so vampires and whatnot, comes in the form of Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase on both Buffy and Angel, and thus will already have experience in solving murders. “It’s a demon!”, her character will likely exclaim multiple times, as the police in Chicago’s District 21 back away slowly.
Actually, according to TV Line, Carpenter will be playing a “lawyer-turned-marijuana dispensary owner who will possibly bloom into a romantic interest for Detective Halstead.” Her first appearance will be on the season’s 15th episode, titled “A Night Owl,” which is probably either a reference to actual owls attacking residents of the Windy City or some dumb idiom. No word yet on how many episodes her weed-selling entrepreneur will appear in, but hopefully enough so that a TV Club writer can eventually make a reference to Chicago P.D. getting high on its own supply of Charisma Carpenter.
