Bundle up ladies, you won’t be Hot In Cleveland much longer

Bundle up ladies, you won’t be Hot In Cleveland much longer

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Wednesday, June 3. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Hot In Cleveland (TV Land, 10 p.m): Hot In Cleveland is (almost) dead. Long live Hot In Cleveland. Let’s take a look at what’s going on in the one-hour series finale (“Vegas Baby” followed by “I Hate Goodbyes”): “Joy and Bob put their Paris wedding plans on hold when they learn a baby is available for adoption in Las Vegas, so the whole gang, including Bob’s dad and Mamie, tags along for a trip to Sin City, where Victoria is reunited with Johnny Revere.” Needs more “Johnny Revere.” With the series finale of Hot In Cleveland, so goes any and all hotness in Cleveland. All that will remain is are the memories of that truly bizarre—really, if you haven’t seen it, you should—animated 100th episode. In his For Our Consideration piece (10 a.m.), Noel Murray bids farewell to the sitcom with a discussion of what it meant for TV Land as a network and brand.

Regular coverage

Adventure Time (Cartoon Network, 6 p.m.)

WWE NXT (WWE Network, 8 p.m.)

Elsewhere in TV Club

Do you like TV but wish there were more superlatives involved? Of course you do—you’re reading The A.V. Club. Well, we’ve compiled our own TV Club Awards for the 2014-2015 season, and it all starts with dramas and reality shows. So go read that.

TV Club Classic

Lost (Classic) (1 p.m.): This week, Myles McNutt and Noel Murray take on “Greatest Hits,” the penultimate episode of the season (and a Charlie episode!). Such a fitting title.

What else is on?

Melissa & Joey (ABC Family, 8 p.m.): ABC Family may have said au revoir for now to the age-challenged and food-deprived last week, but it’s not like the network’s Wednesday night spot will be empty. The hole will be filled with the fourth season summer premiere of Melissa & Joey (and the beginning of its final 10 episodes). Pause for live-studio audience applause. Perhaps because of the absence of that which is immature and starving, the episode title is “Call Of Duty,” which we hear is a popular electronics game for those who fit under the previously mentioned umbrella. (The other show we were talking about was Young & Hungry.)

The Briefcase (CBS, 8 p.m.): Let’s see what the Scott and Musolinos have to offer… “The Scott family and the Musolino family are each presented with $101,000 and must decide if they should keep it or share the wealth.” Well that’s every episode, just interchanged with different family names. What’s the back story? Is anyone selling ice cream bars (preferably with CM Punk’s face on them)? “A Maryland couple are up against the hefty cost of adoption, while a family based in North Carolina deal with being apart for half the year while dad works a fishing job in Florida.” That’s more like it. Again, this doesn’t appear like a difficult decision.

MasterChef (Fox, 8 p.m): In “Cinnamon Roll-er Coaster,” MasterChef asks the important question: Why aren’t cinnamon rolls a more popular breakfast food? Did the Cinnabon phenomenon bastardize it? Hopefully the remaining 20 competitors get to the bottom of this.

Queens Of Drama (Pop, 8 p.m): “Discord erupts when the women film monologues for the sizzle reel.”

Baby Daddy (ABC Family, 8:30 p.m.): It’s the fourth season premiere of Baby Daddy, “Home Is Where The Wheeler Is,” and according to the description, the “word” “friendervention” is an integral part of the episode. That should tell you whether or not Baby Daddy is the show for you.

Unusually Thicke (Pop, 8:30 p.m): “Alan and Tanya talk babies. Well, at least they try to, but the arrival of an incompetent intern proves distracting.” Descriptions for Unusually Thicke are our favorite episodes of Unusually Thicke.

Bullseye (Fox, 9:00 p.m): One can only hope the Bullseye episode “Runaway Train” features the members of Soul Asylum competing for that $50,000 prize.

Celebrity Wife Swap (ABC, 10 p.m): Have you been wondering where Jeremy London went? Apparently he went here.

Ripper Street (BBC America, 10 p.m): When a flower seller ends up drugged and dead, “an aristocrat” is arrested for the murder. We bet the youths from last week had something to do with it.

Blood Relatives (Investigation Discovery, 10 p.m): There are now four seasons of Blood Relatives. What is Blood Relatives? Knowing the network’s brand, it’s probably about relatives who kill each other. Drumroll, please. “From the matriarch to favored son, black sheep to heir apparent, each episode unravels the motives of every family member, who are all potential suspects… and potential victims.” Nailed it!

Through The Wormhole With Morgan Freeman (Science, 10:30 p.m): In the sixth season finale of Through The Wormhole, Morgan Freeman wants to know the answer to the question “Why Do We Lie?” We want to know why he’s in Ted 2. Life’s mysteries—they may never be answered.

Instant Mom (TV Land, 11:30 p.m): In “Ghost Busted,” after seeing a horror movie, Stephanie “winds up being frightened” and believes that her house is haunted. Nobody let her see a Toy Story.

True Lies (AMC, 7 p.m.): More like True American Movie Classic.

Killers (Lifetime, 8 p.m.): Lifetime is most likely airing the Ashton Kutcher/Katherine Heigl flick from 2010. Most likely. According to the TV Guide description, it’s airing a 2014 Japanese film of the same namee. Let’s compare, shall we? The Kutcher/Heigl movie: “A vacationing woman meets her ideal man, leading to a swift marriage. Back at home, however, their idyllic life is upset when they discover their neighbors could be assassins who have been contracted to kill the couple.” The TV Guide description: “A Japanese psychopath and an Indonesian vigilante post videos of their crimes online in a twisted competition for notoriety.” Only on Lifetime.

Sports, sports, all type of sports

MLB Baseball: Dodgers at Rockies (ESPN2, 8 p.m.)

MLB Baseball: Cubs at Marlins (Fox Sports Network, 7 p.m.)

Stanley Cup Final: Game 1: Blackhawks at Lightning (NBC, 8 p.m.)

Ring Of Honor (Destination America, 8 p.m.)

Impact Wrestling (Destination America, 9 p.m.)

Lucha Underground (El Rey, 8 p.m.)

In case you missed it

Community: Be honest: How much did the season (series?) finale of Community make you cry? (We hear Joshua Alston cried a lot.)
