Call Of Duty: Call Of The Dead features playable Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Machete, evil George Romero
By now the “zombie skin” has become such a de rigueur part of a video game’s downloadable content that even Call Of Duty: Black Ops just went ahead and added a “zombies” mini-game to its original disc. So fortunately, they saved something special for the upcoming Black Ops Escalation Pack due out on May 3: Yes, Call Of The Dead may pit players against a somewhat predictable wave of Soviet undead, but it ups the ante by giving you playable versions of Sarah Michelle Gellar in her Buffy The Vampire Slayer guise, Nightmare On Elm Street’s Robert Englund, The Walking Dead’s Michael Rooker, and Machete’s Danny Trejo. (As to why a team like this would ever be assembled to investigate a mysterious Siberian island, please just shut up.) Even better, that army of shuffling corpses is led by George Romero himself, as the father of the modern zombie film rises up out of the sea to wreak his own havoc and make sure everything is lit properly. Here’s the grindhouse-style trailer for the thing you will probably buy for $15 if you’re a fan of any of this. [via Kotaku]
