Can Dietland's penultimate episode get season one back on track?

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, July 23. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Dietland/Unapologetic With Aisha Tyler (AMC, 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.): Look, we know season one has been a bumpy ride, with unfocused storytelling and jarringly precious voice-overs. But Joy Nash gives such a powerful performance as the radicalized Plum, that we’re willing to stick with Dietland to see her get back some of her own, especially following the conclusion of last week’s “Rad Fatties.” And the synopsis for “Woman Down” hints at a communique from an old friend that leads Plum into the lion’s den, so we’ll be watching and then getting our debriefing from Aisha Tyler.

Regular coverage

Sorry, still coming up with nothing.

Wild card

Chopped (Food Network, 9 p.m.): The all-baker episode from this Food Network staple really takes the cake.

Watch What Happens Live (Bravo, 11 p.m.): Emmy nominee Betty Gilpin drops by Watch What Happens Live for what we hope is an hour of her just being awesome.
