It’s not just that Eric D. Johnson has a common surname. He shares his first and last names with multiple figures in pop culture, sports, politics, and academia, including another singing and songwriting Eric Johnson whose work also draws on influences from the realms of folk and country. So when The A.V. Club challenged the Fruit Bats leader to run a gantlet of Jeopardy!-style clues about other famous Johnsons, we could’ve composed an entire list of name twins. But as you’ll see in this episode of Talent Show, we’re far more merciful quiz masters than that—though we’re not immune to getting tricky with presidential Johnsons.
