Jeff Sessions, the latest of Donald Trump’s absurd and destructive cabinet picks, has now been sworn in as the attorney general, leaving some people utterly horrified that a man who has been dogged by allegations of racism for years is now in charge of our legal system. One such person is actor Chris Evans, who succinctly pointed out a key problem with Sessions:
David Duke, of course, is a former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and one of the most noted and proud racists in the U.S. right now, so it seems safe to admit that you’re probably one of the bad guys if you’re on his team. Duke also happens to be a huge fan of Donald Trump (funny how that works out), and just like that guy, he also can’t resist a good Twitter feud:
Unfortunately for Duke, Evans doesn’t just play Captain America because he looks good in star-spangled tights—he plays Captain America because he’s not afraid to sock a Nazi in the jaw (or, in this instance, stand up to racist institutions):
Duke hasn’t responded to Evans again, though he has tweeted a bunch of anti-Semitic garbage, so maybe he—like the Red Skull, Baron Zemo, and countless other comic book villains—has finally realized that Captain America will never back down to a bully.
