Cardi B and The Carters run away with the 2018 VMA nominations
The Video Music Awards, your yearly reminder that MTV does in fact continue to play music videos, are scheduled for August 20, when we’ll see Cardi B, Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Bruno Mars, Drake, Childish Gambino, and more compete for Moonpeople and bragging rights. The complete list of nominations is now out, with The Carters picking up 8 nods for “APESHIT,” including Video Of The Year. But the “Bodak Yellow” rapper leads this year’s group of potential honorees with 10 nominations—she’ll vie for the Artist Of The Year and Best New Artist (Presented by Taco Bell®).
Elsewhere, the Song Of The Year category is full of bops like the Bruno Mars and Cardi B collaboration “Finesse (Remix),” Drake’s “God’s Plan,” and Camila Cabello’s “Havana,” featuring Young Thug. Check out the complete list of nominees below.
