Carol Burnett to guest on Glee
Television comedy veteran Carol Burnett will guest on a second-season episode of Fox’s Glee, news broken by Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello. In a bit of inspired casting Burnett will play “Nazi-hunting mother” to the similarly gangly and comical Jane Lynch, who earned an Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy nomination for her portrayal of the win-at-all-costs cheer coach, Sue Sylvester.
Burnett’s sporadic television appearances tend to bode well for her own impressive Emmy praise. As a frequent guest on the hit '90s show Mad About You, Burnett was nominated twice for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series, winning once in 1997. Just last year, in a serious role, the actress garnered another nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series for a performance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Burnett will make her appearance on the hit series this fall.
