Carrie Fisher got a posthumous Emmy nomination

There was a bittersweet moment during today’s Emmy nominations announcement. The late Carrie Fisher received a posthumous nod for her guest role on Amazon’s Catastrophe. Fisher played Mia, Rob’s (Rob Delaney) mother in the most recent season, which also happened to be the show’s most poignant. This is Fisher’s third Emmy nomination; she previously caught the TV Academy’s eye for her guest appearance on 30 Rock in 2008, and the autobiographical Wishful Drinking earned an outstanding variety special nomination in 2011.

Sharon Horgan, who co-created the series with Delaney and also stars in it, tweeted about Fisher’s nomination when it was announced.
