Cars And Films singles out iconic cinema vehicles for a poster series
Cars (and other vehicles) are some of the most iconic props in cinema, remaining indelible symbols of a film—there is perhaps no better example than Doc Brown's DeLorean that Marty McFly uses to travel through time, a model so linked to a film that it even overshadows its creator's sketchy track record with the law. Jesús Prudencio, a Seville-based freelance graphic designer, created the Cars And Films series, which collects 14 different vehicles throughout cinema history, from Bonnie And Clyde to Drive. The van from Little Miss Sunshine, the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, and of course the DeLorean from Back To The Future are there, but also the scooter from Roman Holiday, and for some reason the Citroën DS Cabriolet from Gattaca. There are plenty of iconic vehicles left out—from a Chicago standpoint, The Bluesmobile is a glaring omission—but it’s a simple and elegant design series for the car-in-film enthusiast.
