Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael will write and star-in a new movie for Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions, Deadline reports. Ferrell, McKay, and Jessica Elbaum are set to produce. No plot details have been released yet, but the film is described as an “original story”—which narrows things down quite a bit, as Wilson and Raphael are definitely not making another Harry Potter film or a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
The two previously co-wrote the 2009 romantic comedy Bride Wars (starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway) and their indie film, Ass Backwards, is currently in limited release. Wilson and Raphael also recently sold two half-hour television projects—one about fraternal twins to NBC and another about DINKS (double income, no kids) to ABC. Having conquered both the big and small screen, Wilson and Raphael will presumably go on to pen a Broadway musical, write the next great American novel, and start their own comic book series. Or maybe just take a nap.
