If you need help getting over your case of the Mondays, the first Thor: Ragnarok teaser trailer has just dropped. Displaying a pitch-perfect mix of action, humor, and backstory, the preview also manages to explain Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) new ‘do. The Asgardian loses a significant battle early on, as Hela (Cate Blanchett) appears to destroy Mjölnir. He’s bagged, tagged, and sent to fight for his life by Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), who, oddly enough, likes his chances in the Grandmaster‘s (Jeff Goldblum) gladiatorial fights. Even Thor thinks things are looking up when he runs into his “work friend,” the Incredible Hulk. But maybe the Odinson stole Bruce Banner’s lunch out the Avengers’ fridge one too many times, because the Hulk looks ready to kick his ass.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3.
