The long-running comic strip Cathy will “ack!” its last on October 3, having thoroughly exhausted all possible laughs about the trials and travails of being a thirtysomething career woman, the joys and heartbreak of shopping and binge eating, and the annual indignities of swimsuit season, then continued printing strips for 30 more years anyway.
