CBS comes to its senses, lets somebody love Anthony Zuiker before it's too late

CSI creator Anthony Zuiker, who doesn't care whether you've heard of him or not because he washes his face with money, has convinced CBS to let him develop a "modern-day western" called Desperado. TV Guide describes the series as "not unlike Justified" (kindly refraining from adding "only terrible"), the show will focus on a team of San Antonio cops who "clean up the streets, cowboy-style".  I live in San Antonio, and most of the cops here ride bikes and keep homeless people from bugging tourists for change outside of Spurs games, but hey, it'll be nice to see the place on TV, I guess.

In a classic example of burying the lead, the same TV Guide article reports that Dexter regular Michael Cuesta will also be developing a show for CBS called Knife Fight.  It actually sounds kind of boring — it's about a female public defender to flips to the prosecutorial side of the table to pursue justice — but it's got to be worth a few episodes for that title alone.
