CBS gives Supergirl a full-season order

Look up in the sky—it’s not a bird, or a plane…it’s the back-end of a full season for Supergirl! According to TVLine, CBS has just ordered seven more episodes of the freshman series, which is also the network’s much-discussed first foray into the superhero genre. This brings the total count of season one episodes to 20, which is just shy of the traditional 22 episodes that most network series get, but CBS is calling it a “full season” anyway. Still, it’s a nice round number, and will give Kara Zor-El/Danvers plenty more opportunities to save National City from the threats of various aliens and ambitious Earthlings. It also sounds like there will be time to incorporate that rumored crossover with The Flash, and could even allow for a speaking role for the young Superman the show’s currently trying to cast.
