CBS is moving forward with its Good Wife spin-off

CBS’ The Good Wife may have ended earlier this month, but the show’s universe will live on in the wonderful world of online streaming. That’s because the network has officially given the green light to the Good Wife spin-off we reported on a few days ago. The new show doesn’t seem to have a name yet, but we do know that it will star Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo, who will be reprising their roles from the original series. Also, Good Wife co-creators Robert and Michelle King will write the pilot and act as executive producers, but it doesn’t sound like they’ll be involved much beyond that.

CBS CEO Les Moonves says he wants to have “three to four original series” on CBS All Access every season, with the first two big names being this Good Wife spin-off and the upcoming Star Trek revival. Hopefully, that also opens the door for some kind of Good Wife/Star Trek crossover. Space needs lawyers too, right?
