CBS orders full seasons of Elementary and Vegas, obviously
CBS's crime procedurals Vegas and Elementary continue to be the most successful crime procedurals out of all the new crime procedurals, with the network picking up both today for full seasons. The '60s-set Vegas is easily the breakout hit of the freshman class, averaging nearly 15 million viewers who tune in to see what exciting Michael Chiklis-led mob drama will frustratingly take place in the background while Cowboy Dennis Quaid works his case of the week. And Elementary is doing just as well with its modern-day interpretation of the Sherlock Holmes mythology—and it's entirely possible that this full-season vote of confidence might finally give it, as well as Vegas, the confidence to introduce some more serialization and world-building. Or, considering they're doing fine as is, also maybe not.
