CBS orders “multiracial cop comedy” from a Man With A Plan producer

Variety reports that CBS has picked up a new comedy pilot from Man With A Plan producer Mark Gross—whose past credits include Gary Unmarried and Mike And Molly—about an African-American and Pakistani cop working together in Detroit. Titled Brothered Up, the multi-cam sitcom sounds like it’ll go the Odd Couple route, with one member of the team described as “emotionally guarded,” and the other “emotionally open.” Can the “opposites find a way to connect” as they try to protect and serve? Almost certainly yes, probably five minutes before the pilot’s credits roll.
