CBS taunts viewers by renewing a bunch of stuff that isn’t Supergirl

CBS has just announced that it’s renewing Survivor, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, and a bunch of other stuff that isn’t Supergirl, no matter how many times we shake our TVs, insisting they give in to our demands. The network announced a whopping 11 renewals today, none of which star Melissa Benoist or fill our hearts with lightness and joy. (Well, maybe Madam Secretary, but it’s still just not the same.)

Other shows that are confirmed to be coming back, saving their fans from superpowered heartbreak: Elementary, Scorpion, all three NCIS series, 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, and Mom. But CBS is keeping quiet about its first-season shows, which include Supergirl, Life In Pieces, Limitless, Code Black, and the Criminal Minds spinoff Beyond Borders, presumably because they hate us, and want us to be sad.

Still, it’s not all doom and gloom: CBS CEO Les Moonves made a statement earlier this month suggesting that the network was planning on renewing at least five of its freshman series from the 2015-2016 series. Odds are good that Supergirl will be on that list when it comes out, at which point we can finally stop wandering the office, angrily smashing stuff, and citing “Red Kryptonite” when people ask us to stop.
