CBS will air an hour-long Mary Tyler Moore tribute tomorrow night
CBS—the network that served as the TV home for both The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show—has announced that it will be airing an hour-long primetime special in tribute of Mary Tyler Moore tomorrow night. The network cut into its own programming earlier today so that CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley could announce Moore’s death shortly after the news broke.
According to Deadline, the special is titled Mary Tyler Moore: Love Is All Around, and will air at 9 p.m. Eastern on Thursday night. Moore super-fan Oprah Winfrey is expected to appear, along with archival footage and interviews with at least some of the many performers Moore shared the stage and camera with across her multi-decade career as one of America’s most beloved TV stars.
