Every day is a holiday—at least, according to the people that run those “What national day is it?” calendars. This year alone, we’ve observed such auspicious occasions as National Chicken Cordon Bleu Day and National Hug A Newsperson Day (yes, we’re mad that you forgot about it). But this day, May 25, belongs to the oenophiles. Yes, it’s National Wine Day which, fittingly enough, comes right after National Escargot Day. To celebrate the occasion, Vanity Fair has compiled this wino list, with notes of Liz Lemon and the Cul-de-sac Crew.
You don’t have to be a day drinker or really any kind of drinker to enjoy these shots of TV characters wrestling giant goblets and drinking straight from the bottle, but it couldn’t hurt. If you have popped a cork and have your aerator nearby, though, you can enjoy a glass of red with Tyrion and Cersei Lannister.
If you prefer more contemporary or just less murderous company, you could also share a bottle of merlot with The Good Wife’s Alicia Florrick—though you’d probably have to move quickly.
Of course, no list of TV lushes would be complete without the residents of Cougar Town.
