Celebrate Ridley Scott’s birthday with an Alien-related behind-the-scenes photo

Director Ridley Scott’s birthday is today (he’s 79 years young), and to mark the occasion, the official Alien Twitter account shared a behind-the-scenes photo of him gesturing toward something and standing in front of what appears to be one of the “Space Jockeys” that have popped up in these movies from time to time:

A dead Space Jockey first appeared in the original Alien, but the prequel Prometheus established that it’s actually a being called an Engineer, and they played a much bigger role in that movie. Interestingly, the Alien people have not specifically clarified at this point whether or not this photo is from the set of Prometheus or the upcoming Alien: Covenant, which means this could be a big tease for Scott’s upcoming prequel-sequel. Granted, everyone could probably predict that big things from the Alien mythos would play into Covenant’s story, but this is the first time we’ve seen something so specific.

Alien: Covenant will be in theaters on May 19, 2017.
