Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy may be teaming up for Triple Frontier
Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy, two men with similarly shaped faces, may star together in a long-in-the-works thriller called Triple Frontier, according to Variety. The film was initially going to be a Kathryn Bigelow’s project, but she’s not involved anymore and it’s now in the hands of A Most Violent Year’s J.C. Chandor. A host of notable actors—including Tom Hanks and Will Smith—have been linked to the movie over the years. Johnny Depp’s name was brought up last January. Variety reports that Tatum and Hardy have “scheduling conflicts,” so even they aren’t a done deal.
Triple Frontier is written by Bigelow’s frequent collaborator Mark Boal and takes place in the region known as “la triple frontera” along the borders of Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. The area has been deemed a “smugglers’ haven” by The New York Times and also been associated with terrorist activities.
