Charles Bradley has been diagnosed with stomach cancer
As reported by Pitchfork, soul singer Charles Bradley has announced that he has a cancerous tumor in his stomach. Bradley has been on tour promoting his recent album Changes, but he has decided to cancel the remaining dates on his tour so he can “concentrate on healing.” That comes from a Facebook post on Bradley’s official page, in which he adds that he’s “getting the best medical care” and that he and his doctors “are all extremely optimistic.” Bradley closes his note by saying, “I look forward to seeing your gorgeous faces soon, and to continue to share my love through music.”
Bradley recently made a cameo appearance on Netflix’s Luke Cage, appearing as himself at villain Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes’ Harlem Paradise nightclub. You can hear the title track off of Bradley’s Changes—a cover of the Black Sabbath song—below.
