Charlie Hunnam sets out on a quest for The Lost City Of Z in first teaser

James Gray’s The Lost City Of Z is the true story of Percy Fawcett, an early 20th Century explorer who developed an insatiable fascination with the Amazon, and from the first teaser you can see why. Gray captures the landscape’s enchanting qualities so you view it through Fawcett’s eyes, not those of the naysayers issuing ominous warnings. The movie, which premiered at the New York Film Festival earlier this year, stars Charlie Hunnam as Fawcett, and is adapted from David Grann’s book of the same name. Gray’s film, shot on 35mm, traces Fawcett’s preoccupation with finding evidence of a previously undiscovered society from its inception to his ultimate disappearance alongside his son, played here by Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland. Robert Pattinson takes on the role of his loyal companion on most of his adventures, while Sienna Miller is his wife, left behind due to good old fashioned sexism. The Lost City Of Z is due out in limited release April 14 before expanding nationwide April 21.
