Charlie Kaufman writing his first novel—or maybe it's writing him, or whatever

Raising the question of whether his usual layers of inventive, mind-bending meta can be folded into a traditional novel without making it some sort of pop-up book, Charlie Kaufman has just signed a deal with Grand Central Publishing to put out an as-yet-untitled story… eventually. After all, Kaufman has a fairly full slate already, what with Frank Or Francis in the works and a possible reunion with Spike Jonze also in the offing. Also unclear is what Kaufman’s novel will be about, as details are being kept completely under wraps. It is also possible that this article is Charlie Kaufman’s novel, or hey, maybe your comments are. Or maybe Charlie Kaufman is actually his novel’s novel. Think about it.
