Charlie Sheen will reprise his Ferris Bueller character on The Goldbergs

ABC’s comedy The Goldbergs is based on recycling memories from the ’80s and presenting them in modern times, warts and all. With the emphasis on warts firmly established, People announces that Charlie Sheen is reprising his role as “Boy In The Police Station” from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for an upcoming episode of the sitcom.

Almost 30 years after Sheen first temporarily fooled us into thinking he was awesome, the actor and relationship expert will once more don the leather jacket and crack his knuckles for our nostalgia-befogged amusement. The episode, airing in early 2015, will follow older son Barry (Troy Gentile) as “he fakes being sick in an attempt to create his own epic, Bueller-esque day off.” Much like the film that inspired the episode, shenanigans ensue, eventually leading to Barry’s sister Erica (Hayley Orrantia) on the police station couch next to Sheen. While there’s no word yet on whether the drug-addled character will be revealed to have actually been “Charlie Sheen” all along, we can once again confirm that Sheen is still a huge bummer.

The Goldbergs airs Wednesdays at 8:30 ET on ABC. People also has exclusive photos of the upcoming appearance, if you’d care to finally strip away any lingering pleasant memories of that original scene.
