Variety is reporting that Mad Max: Fury Road star Charlize Theron is in talks to lend her hard-eyed star power to another series known for its patently ridiculous vehicular mayhem: The Fast And The Furious. Reports broke earlier today that the producers of the latest installment in the franchise—dubbed Fast 8, in the series’ ongoing and bloody war against consistent nomenclature—were looking to feature a female villain for Dom and the gang to contend with in the F. Gary Gray-directed film, with Theron’s name quickly rising to the top of the list.
Despite the presence of actresses like Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and Rhonda Rousey, the Furious movies have always been an aggressively bro-y affair, often employing as many as six dude-wipers at a time to sop up excess testosterone before it can pool and stain on all those hyper-masculine leather seats. So if the deal does go through, it’ll be exciting to see the films’ various lumps of massive, street-racing man meat (including Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson) bounce off of Theron’s intimidating presence as last year’s queen of over-the-top automotive annihilation.
