Amazon’s first-ever Prime Day, held last week, was mostly noteworthy for the endlessly parade of random junk that the company trotted out in the guise of “incredible” deals. And it was incredible, in the sense that you could watch in real time as things like plastic sleeves for lighters were snapped up by people who couldn’t believe their good fortune at saving an additional few quarters off the regular price. But mostly, it felt like a bit of a scam, the equivalent of P.T. Barnum’s “THIS WAY TO THE EGRESS.”
Thankfully, the good people at the YouTube channel ThinkHeroPro noticed as well, and crafted this parody video, proudly touting Amazon Prime Day 2. Starting with actual tweets about the letdown that was the online retail giant’s first big sale, the video then goes on to offer the kinds of milquetoast savings on unnecessary products that comprised the vast majority of Amazon’s deals.
