One thing you can say about Ricky Gervais: he's a comedian with ambition. From The Office to Extras to The Invention Of Lying, Gervais has alternated wild comic moments with undertones of pathos and social commentary. Gervais has now re-teamed with his Extras/Office collaborator Stephen Merchant on Cemetery Junction, a coming-of-age comedy-drama set in Reading in the '70s among a group of go-nowhere young men working as clerks in an insurance company. Looks pretty grand. Check it out.
