Chelsea Handler’s Netflix talk show will air 3 times a week
Comedian, talk show host, and master of time and space Chelsea Handler has finally revealed the details of her upcoming Netflix chat show, via a hand-written letter from her favorite person (herself) to her favorite person (ditto) that she posted on social media today.
The most interesting thing about the project—for people who weren’t waiting with bated breath for the follow-up to this year’s Handler-helmed docu-series Chelsea Does, at least—is its release schedule: Netflix is forgoing its usual “binge ’til you finish, or possibly drop dead” policy in favor of releasing episodes three times a week. The streaming provider has flirted with staggered releases for some of its animated kid-fare and teen-oriented series in the past, but this will be the first time it’s taken a shot at actual timeliness. (New episodes will debut every week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights.)
Handler’s press release also sprinkles in a few more details, like a May 11 premiere date, and jabs at Byron Allen, but doesn’t reveal what the new series is going to be called. Apparently that’s because the comedian is still crowdsourcing it with her legion of loyal fans. She posted her favorites earlier this week:
