David Mackenzie’s skillfully crafted take on the Western heist movie, Hell Or High Water, opened last weekend to near-universal acclaim, currently holding a 98 percent “fresh” rating on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. One of those rave reviews came from The A.V.Club’s A.A. Dowd, who gave Hell Or High Water an A- and praises the film as “a crime thriller that feels at once relaxed and urgent, that delivers an endless supply of comic banter without compromising its underlying tone of elegiac regret.”
Now The A.V. Club is giving Chicago residents a chance to catch up with the film at either the AMC River East 21 or Century 12 in Evanston. We’re giving away 25 pairs of passes to the film, and to enter you just have to enter your information here. Passes will be mailed to winners at the address provided and are good for any screening of Hell Or High Water on a weekday (Monday through Thursday) through the remainder of the film’s theatrical run in Chicago.
