Chicago, emerge from your tomb to see The Mummy early and for free
Director Alex Kurtzman’s The Mummy is supposed to be the starting point for a brand new cinematic universe based on Universal’s classic monsters, meaning there will soon be another batch of heroes, villains, and supporting characters to keep track of. After all, you don’t want to be confused when Russell Crowe’s Dr. Jekyll pops up in a werewolf movie and alludes to the time he battled a reanimated Egyptian princess played by Sofia Boutella alongside Tom Cruise, right?
Lucky for you, The A.V. Club is here to give a few lucky readers a head start on learning the ins and outs of the Universal monster universe with an early screening of The Mummy in Chicago on June 6 at the Roosevelt ICON theater. And all you need to do to get free passes is enter your information at this link. Remember: Advance screenings are often intentionally overbooked, so be sure to arrive early if you want to secure a seat.
For anyone who’d rather remain in the dark like an evil princess trapped in a tomb, The Mummy will be in theaters on June 9.
